European Medicines Agency launches survey to gather feedback on SME programme

The European Medicines Agency has launched a new online survey to gather feedback from stakeholders on its small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) programme.

The survey, which runs until Friday 22 April 2011, will help the Agency to take stock of the experience gained with the SME initiative five years after its launch. The Agency will be looking for feedback from its stakeholders on current issues faced by SME, areas for further development and identification of new regulatory tools that could support innovation in the SME sector. The thoughts and opinions gathered in the survey will help the Agency to tailor future activities to the needs of SMEs.

The results of the survey will be analysed and reported at a roundtable meeting with SME stakeholders in the second half of 2011.

The Agency launched its SME office in December 2005 to support SMEs developing new medicines for human and veterinary use. The SME office is a 'one-stop shop' that helps SMEs with practical or procedural issues relating to the development and authorisation of their medicinal products.
