Committees

CVMP members

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) publishes details of the members and alternates of its Committee for Medicinal Products for Veterinary Use (CVMP).

The CVMP consists of:

  • a chair, elected by serving CVMP members;
  • one member and an alternate nominated by each of the 27 EU Member States after consulting EMA's Management Board;
  • one member and an alternate nominated by Iceland and by Norway;
  • up to five co-opted members, chosen among experts nominated by Member States or the Agency and recruited, when necessary, to provide additional expertise in a particular scientific area.

All members and alternates serve on the committee for a renewable three year period.

EMA has adopted a revised procedure for the nomination and appointment of co-opted members in July 2016:
