Event summary
EMA’s emergency task force (ETF) is organising a meeting with academic experts and industry stakeholders to strengthen current knowledge and foster further research on the biodistribution of mRNA vaccines components (i.e. the mRNA molecules and the produced antigen).
The meeting is an opportunity to discuss which additional research could be conducted in humans to complement the available nonclinical data on the biodistribution of mRNA products. Such work may also help address scientific questions, take stock of current methodologies and stimulate discussion on potential research areas.
