Event summary

2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the European Medicines Agency's (EMA) Patients' and Consumers' Working Party (PCWP). Having started as a working group of patients' organisations in 2003, it became a working party following endorsement of its framework by EMA's Management Board. 

This platform has served as inspiration for creation of the Healthcare Professionals' Working Party (HCPWP) and the US FDA Patient Engagement Collaborative (PEC), which was announced on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the PCWP.

EMA is proud of the work of the PCWP, and this anniversary meeting is an opportunity to celebrate past successes and plan for the future.
