European Medicines Agency (EMA) and Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) webinar on the Union Product Database website
Table of contents
This is the third joint webinar organised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE), in the context of implementing the Veterinary Medicinal Products Regulation.
Regulation EU 2019/6 required EMA to establish and maintain a Union Product Database serving as a single source of information on all authorised veterinary medicines and their availability in European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) Member States.
Since 28 January 2022, national competent authorities, marketing authorisation holders, animal health practitioners and members of the general public can access information in the product database via the Veterinary Medicines information website. This public portal of the Union Product Database enables everyone with an interest in veterinary medicines to:
- search and view information on all authorised veterinary medicines in the EU / EEA, irrespective of the authorisation route;
- find out in which Member State a specific veterinary medicine is available;
- find information which could help identify potential treatment alternatives.
This event, oriented at animal health practitioners, includes a presentation of current status of the Union Product Database, its benefits, functionalities and upcoming improvements. Registered participants are able to follow a demonstration of the basic functionalities of the veterinary information website, including search function and product comparison.
A video recording will be available after the event.
