European Surveillance of Veterinary Antimicrobial Consumption (ESVAC) workshop on testing of system for data collection by species
Location: European Medicines Agency, London, UK
The European Surveillance of Veterinary Antimicrobial Consumption (ESVAC) workshop on the testing of the system for data collection by species held on 9-10 February 2015 was organised by the European Medicines Agency to discuss the outcome of a trial on collecting antimicrobial consumption data from pig farms. The main objectives of the ESVAC species project at this stage are to provide Member States with a protocol for collection of data by species at national level to ensure that these are harmonised and standardised across the European Union/European Economic Area countries and to involve more countries. Representatives for the Member States that volunteered to participate in the trial were invited to attend the workshop. During the workshop the participants exchanged their experiences on the data collection test protocol and templates, and identified areas in the protocol and templates where clarification was needed.
