Event summary
In preparation for the implementation of the new pharmaceutical legislation and the proposed Critical Medicines Act, EMA’s Executive Steering Group on Shortages and Safety of Medicinal Products (MSSG) is initiating the evaluation of vulnerabilities in the supply chains of a first set of INNs (critical medicines included on the Union list of Critical Medicines), using the methodology adopted by MSSG in November 2025 (Methodology to Identify Vulnerabilities in Supply Chains of Critical Medicines).
The workshop provides key information to marketing authorisation holders responsible for critical medicines in scope.
It covers the planned approach to the assessment of the first set of INNs that are to be carried out this year, under MSSG governance, including information on data that marketing authorisation holders will be required to submit, in line with the new pharmaceutical legislation and the proposed Critical Medicines Act.
