European Medicines Agency welcomes new Head of Veterinary Medicines
Ivo Claassen joins the Agency as of 1 March
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ivo Claassen as Head of the Veterinary Medicines Division as of 1 March 2018.
A Dutch national, Ivo Claassen is a biomedical scientist, holds a PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam and is a former member of EMA's Committee for Medicinal Products for Veterinary Use (CVMP). He has professional experience in the research and development, production, quality assurance and control and regulatory aspects of both human and veterinary medicines, mainly in the field of vaccines.
For the past thirteen years, Dr Claassen has been responsible for the development and management of international projects in Asia, Africa and the Middle East at Wageningen Bioveterinary Research Institute in the Netherlands.
