The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has published the first membership list of the European Network of Paediatric Research at the European Medicines Agency (Enpr-EMA) following a call for expressions of interest in 2010. To date a total of 32 networks and centres have submitted applications for membership and the list of all those applying for membership and the relevant application documents is now online.
Enpr-EMA was established to build a high-level network of existing research networks, investigators and centres with recognised expertise in performing clinical studies in children. It aims to foster high-quality ethical research on medicines for use in children through networking and stakeholder collaboration with members from both within and outside the European Union. The European Medicines Agency set up Enpr-EMA in accordance with the European Paediatric Regulation (EC) No 1901/2006 which aims to improve the health of children in the European Union. It does not perform clinical trials or fund studies or research.
