Setting up in March 2022, the Cancer Medicines Forum was created by EMA in collaboration with the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) with the overall goal to optimise cancer treatments.
Celebrating its 3 years anniversary, the CMF has been looking at how it can contribute towards addressing remaining uncertainties about the use of cancer medicines in clinical practice. Being fully established and looking forward the CMF will further help prioritise actions in oncology as part of the European medicines’ agencies network strategy to 2028 and Academia Collaboration Matrix Action Plan and will provide information to the EMA’s Healthcare Professionals Working Party (HCPWP) and Patients and Consumers Working Party (PCWP) and continue its work towards addressing treatment optimisation in oncology.
During the March 2025 meeting, the following topics were discussed:
- Update on the study determining the optimal treatment duration of an antibody-drug conjugate in patients with previously untreated advanced urothelial cancer
- Introduction to ACT EU and the work of the Clinical Trials Coordination Group
- Update on the CMF mandate
- Update on publications on pragmatic clinical trials and CMF workshop
