The European Medicines Agency has launched the second phase of the public SME register.
The new version of the publicly available database contains additional information on companies registered as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the Agency's SME office, including information on companies' pipelines and product profiles.
This complements the information on contact details of individual companies, their area of activity and headcount that was released in the first phase of the registry in December 2010.
The register aims at facilitating and promoting interaction amongst SMEs. It responds to needs expressed by the Agency's stakeholders, aiming to increase the public information on SMEs, to give a more complete picture of the registered SMEs in Europe and to support their growth in the European Union through partner search and co-operation.
