Our X handle is @EMA_News.
We now use X (formerly known as Twitter) to keep you informed about all things EMA. On X, we share content on news, events, public consultations, newly approved human medicines, scientific and regulatory guidelines.
Additionally, we highlight posts on science, medicines, and health from other organisations and users active on X that we believe will interest our followers.
During major EMA events, such as press briefings, we provide live updates and live video broadcasts on X.
X is a social networking platform where you can post short messages and stay updated with our latest developments. It integrates various types of content, including text, photos, and videos. Once you join X, simply click the 'follow' button on our profile to receive all updates directly.
YouTube
Our YouTube channel is European Medicines Agency.
We use YouTube to publish recorded video and audio content from our major meetings, events and training workshops.
We have also published short videos on themes such as orphan medicines, additional monitoring of medicines and the EU pharmacovigilance legislation.
YouTube is a free content-sharing platform for sharing video and audio recordings.
Separately from YouTube, we also broadcast some of our major events live on the EMA website.
EMA has a LinkedIn profile where we post updates on our activities and related to the evaluation and safety monitoring of medicines, as well as our latest job vacancies.
EMA’s Executive Director, Emer Cooke, is also sharing posts and articles about public health on her influencer LinkedIn account.
LinkedIn is a professional social networking site used by companies, organisations and individuals to create profiles and share information about career opportunities.
EMA, together with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the European Environment Agency (EEA), publish content a joint Instagram account.
We cover topics that impact our health, animals and our planet. These include:

- Information on chemicals and chemical safety
- Food safety
- Environment protection

On Facebook you can find a page about EMA. We do not own or manage this page. While Facebook is a widely-used social networking website, we currently do not communicate with our stakeholders using Facebook.
Wikipedia and collaborative platforms
You can find content on EMA and its activities on Wikipedia and other collaborative platforms. This content has been produced independently which we do not oversee.
You can use the 'share' button on each page of the EMA website to share a link to that page with your contacts via your social media accounts.
Moderation rules
We invite different views and opinions expressed on our social media channels, but we apply moderation rules when necessary.
We encourage our followers to interact with each other and contribute to ongoing debates in a respectful and constructive manner. We cannot assume responsibility for their comments or behaviour.
We use a number of hashtags (#) in order to join group conversations and be able to participate in relevant debates but we cannot assume responsibility for any content under these hashtags that has not been developed by us.
We reserve the right to disregard or remove content that:
- spurs violence or illegal behaviour and/or is threatening;
- is abusive, offensive, libelous, illegal, defamatory, discriminatory or racist;
- has a promotional or commercial tone;
- is spam, excessively repetitive, disruptive to the community or not relevant to the discussion;
- infringes the right to protection of personal data;
- contains sensitive, proprietary or confidential information;
- embodies fake news and/or purportedly disinforms EMA’s social media community;
- violates Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram terms and conditions of use.
We reserve the right not to reply individually to messages or comments received on social media.
We may revise the content of our terms of engagement on social media at any time and at our own discretion.
